Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 ARG deepdive!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Pixel Panda Arcade. I haven’t dived into lore or ARGs on this channel or in my blog yet, and I am so excited for Poppy Playtime to be the first game I am diving into.
Before diving in, this post has a supplementary video, and likewise, this document functions as a supplementary document for the video. Also, I hid the Discord names for various users out of courtesy. This is my first time doing this, and I don’t want to put anyone on the spot.
Discord Dive
After getting the image featured below, a Discord user appeared in the Poppy Playtime Discord server.
Just to talk about this for a second, you can see a lot of claw marks on the table around the folders and the tape. We see scratches just like this during Catnap’s chapter (chapter 3), so I assumed from the jump that this had something to do with Catnap.
We also see the Poppy Playtime book, which I will eventually cover. There are files and possibly another book underneath, but we can’t make them out, so let’s move on. This teaser also features cassette tapes, which I find interesting. I am assuming we will get a new way to use these tapes, and I can’t help but assume that this method will be portable. Also, I think Bron’s leg is on the table. I really want Bron to appear in a chapter, but I am starting to think we will only get his body.
We can also see the Catnap’s crescent moon pendant on the upper left of the teaser.
Time to meet SeeingReason
1-20-26
SeeingReason appears and asks a question, and a few people answer. The first day that SeeingReason is in the Discord server takes a minute to pick up. Also, note that these shots are not in date order for the most part.
Note that SeeingReason is a woman (she/her) and has some weird text in her Discord profile.
Byliner@TBP, which is likely where she worked. Or that is at least what I assumed until she started speaking more.
“Thank me dear for paradise”
I fell down a rabbit hole involving this quote. I won’t assume that this means anything, but here is some stuff I found.

Some quotes from the song that I thought could fit Poppy Playtime.

As you can see, there are quite a few ways to relate this to Poppy Playtime.

So SeeingReason appears confused. She is asked about the Hour of Joy.
SeeingReasons thought that the Playtime Co. account was helpful.
She continues searching, which I thought was interesting. I theorize that SeeingReason knows people who worked in the factory, but is keeping that fact as secretive as possible.
I will now share the rest of the texts before things kick off!
What is interesting here is that she says that someone is passing notes. We see that happen with a character, P.W., whom I will cover another time.
We also got a date.
A few other things I want to note:
This person must know who the Prototype is. She won’t talk about him but knows of his existence.
SeeingReason calls herself a Gumshoe which is a detective.
Things finally kick off 1/20/26, 2:00 PM
So SeeingReason pops off for a bit, and we are left with all of the information I have already shared.
Okay, so this one was weird to me. I assumed someone else had taken over the account at this point, but that is just an assumption, and I could be wrong. Either way, now things are kicking off, and after this, we get some files.
Stuff I found
I am going to link Sheep’s video here. Because he simply did this much better.
My thoughts on the rejected toy and the rest of the files
Some of the text makes it seem like another company, or something, is looking into Playtime’s ideas. This is just a theory, of course.
Lullaby Room
Shows a third toy with Huggy and Kissy, which I assume is another one of their friends. It has the same outstretched arms as both of them. Interestingly, this is the first time we see a third toy with them.
The woman in the video alludes to me. She could’ve been made into Lilly (like Sheep proposes), but I’d be left wondering why. She looks too old to be an orphan. I do think she is important, though, because of how distorted the video is.
Flanders Fields
Is a really nice touch.
The Investigation Continues
Other Notes:
This person says that she doesn’t know much about the hour.
She will not share her details.
She can’t open her own files likely because of the computer shes on.
She was asked to describe 1006 in one word, and she used “big.”
Her favorite toy is Kissy
There are a couple of theories that I have about the text above.
Catnap sent the letter that we received to come here in the first place, and that could explain why the handwriting was so messy.
He could’ve done this on his own or on behalf of the Prototype.
She also says he is located ALLLL the way up, so this person is probably deep in the factory. So now I assume this person is either an experiment that we haven’t meant yet, or a person that is somehow alive, which I doubt.
If it is an experiment, I think that it was trying to extract information. She really wanted information about the previous account that was active on Discord.
She could also be someone who came to investigate the factory and got trapped a few floors down, which I doubt.
So, based on that text above, she does seem to be in the factory. After this, she disappears.

Catnaps sleeping gas canisters are refillable.
Catnap likely went through this process in 1990.
I find this whole process to be fascinatingly disgusting.
Theodore is slowly losing during the testing process. Interestingly, when he says Catnap, his eyes glow white. Also, when he attacks the staff, he looks 10x scarier than he did in the game.
This is likely part of an outburst he had on November 20, and I assume the outburst was caused by the constant stress. I wonder if DogDay went through a similar process. Be sure to check the Orientation Notebook.
Could be something else.
The female scientist is the same character from the Bron tape.
Who is Grace?
Preston
I assume this is P.W. It would make sense and be nice to close the lore loop and give us something concrete. You can see his documents in the flickering portions of the videos.
He seems to care for the experiments, which I like.
Final Thoughts
